The fifth Season of Music and the Arts centred round the medieval church of St Catherine in the beautiful Broadland village of Ludham.

The Season will start on 3 May with the Inaugural Event of the Season,the 9th Annual Arts and Crafts Event and will close with a concert of progressive folk music by local group,Stone Angels on Saturday 20 September,2014.

This exciting Season will have several highlights and several departures from previous Seasons. For the first time there is to be a Festival Weekend.This will be on Friday 4 July and Saturday 5 July, when there is to be a weekend of different styles of music. On Saturday 5 July there is to be another open air concert,"Music for a Summers Evening"in the lovely grounds of How Hill House, situated on the river Ant.The performers on this occassion will be the Jonathan Wyatt Big Band.On Friday 4 July we welcome to St Catherines for the first time the EU Chamber Orchestra who will play a programme of music by Haydn, Mozart, Bartok and Tim Watts,with cello soloist Laura van der Heijden,BBC Young Musician of the Year 2012,finalist.
Other departures include a 60s evening with the rock band Big Black Cadillac, and an evening of progressive folk music with Stone Angels.
A Friends of St Catherine's Garage Sale Trail on Sunday 18 May will be followed in the early evening by a concert by the Onyx Brass Quintet, sponsored by the Arts Council and PRS for Music Foundation.
The three day Arts and Crafts event is now in its 9th year,and will this year have a programme of entertainment alongside the exhibits and demonstrations. There will be a week-long exhibition during Open Churches Week "Ludham and WW1" with exhibits of records from the Norfolk Record Office. The week will finish with a performance by the St Catherine's Singers.Two other choral concerts will feature the ladies barbershop group,Norwich Harmony and the Phoenix Male Voice choir pay a return visit to St Catherine's.
